North American Harvard 2A ZK-SGQ
![]() |
The Harvard was the main Allied advanced trainer in WWII. Strong and agile it gave pilots valuable transitional experience from basic trainers to advanced combat types. ZK-SGQ joined the RNZAF in 1943 and served in the RNZAF until 19854 as 1033. SGQ was purchased by late Air Commodore Stan Quill when the type was phased out of service in 1976 and was restored by SVAS who then purchased the aircraft for $2. ZK-SGQ presents a chance to experience exciting flight in a classic military trainer. |
