On 23 May 2004, SVAS shared in the celebration of Masterton's 150th anniversary by hosting an afternoon air display. Aircraft from the Old Stick and Rudder Company, the RNZAF, the agricultural industry together with other vintage and warbird aircraft joined in.

With thanks to the Masterton District Council Sesquicentennial Committee, who supported this event with funding and advertising.
